Here’s the Variety review of Cirque du Freak.  It’s not very complimentary, it seems The Vampire’s Assistant may be suffering from problematic “the book is always better than the movie” conundrum.  Seen based on books that worked well and translated well to the screen? Personally, I really enjoyed A Series of Unfortunate Events.  Could Jim Carrey’s Count Olaf have been any more spot on? I also thought that the first Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants really captured the feel and energy of the books.  Plus casting Blake Lively (pre Gossip Girl) as Bridget was brilliant.  As for the  second one?  I was not such a fan and I actually had trouble sitting through it, even though most of the actual story of the movie felt rushed and jumbled.

  1. I think as for the Cirque du Freak movie they had casted wrong people to play the characters. They needed way different characters.

I haven’t seen it yet. You mean they cast the wrong people in the movie to play the characters? Have you seen it? What’d you think?

If you have seen it, was it faithful to the book(s)?
